Donald Trump’s transition team has put forward policy recommendations that aim to reduce government support for electric vehicles (EVs) and related infrastructure.

The proposals aim to boost the US defense supply chain and reduce reliance on China for key materials.

Among the key recommendations is the termination of the Biden administration’s US$7,500 EV tax credit.

The team also proposes reallocating funds from a US$7.5 billion EV charging station initiative to improve battery mineral processing and strengthen national defense.
