President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Jan. 21, extending the deadline for ByteDance to sell TikTok’s United States operations by 75 days.

This extension prevents the app from being banned in the US for now.

The executive order instructs the US Attorney General to postpone enforcement of a law that could have led to a nationwide ban on TikTok.

It requires companies like Apple and Google to remove the app from their stores.

This decision follows a recent US Supreme Court ruling that mandates the sale of TikTok to an American entity unless national security concerns are addressed.
