United States President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to sign an executive order that would prioritize cryptocurrency as a national policy focus.

The order may be issued as early as Jan. 20 and is expected to create a framework for government agencies to work with the crypto industry while establishing a crypto advisory council.

This move would contrast sharply with the Biden administration’s approach, which included over 100 enforcement actions and heightened scrutiny following incidents like the FTX collapse.

The directive may also prompt a review of digital asset policies, potentially suspend lawsuits against crypto firms, and explore a national bitcoin reserve using confiscated bitcoin worth US$20 billion.

The order remains under development and may evolve further before its release.
