Trump appoints ex-a16z general partner as AI policy advisor

Sriram Krishnan has been appointed as senior policy advisor for AI by incoming United States President Donald Trump.

Krishnan, a former general partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), will coordinate AI policy across the federal government within the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

He will collaborate with the president’s council of advisors on science and technology, and work closely with David Sacks, appointed as Trump’s lead for cryptocurrency and AI policy.

Krishnan has held various leadership positions at companies including Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, and Snap.
