Trump admin to hire 1,000 engineers for AI, tech jobs
The Trump administration has unveiled the “US Tech Force,” a program that will place about 1,000 engineers and technology specialists across federal agencies to support projects related to AI and digital infrastructure.
Participants will commit to a two-year employment program, working with teams that report directly to agency leaders and in collaboration with major tech companies, including Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google Public Sector, Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI, Oracle, Palantir, Salesforce, and others.
The initiative highlights the administration’s efforts to build out the US AI infrastructure as it competes with China in the global industry.
Annual salaries for the program will likely range from US$150,000 to US$200,000, plus benefits.
After completing the program, participants can seek full-time jobs with partner companies, which have committed to consider program alumni for employment, and these companies can also nominate their employees for temporary government service.
Tech Force members will work on projects such as AI implementation, app development, data modernization, and digital service delivery.
