Tin Men Capital backs Pints AI in $5.6m funding round
Singapore-based Pints AI, an AI startup that builds auditable tools for regulated financial institutions, said on June 15 it raised S$7.2 million (US$5.6 million) in a pre-series A round.
Tin Men Capital led the round while SBI Ven Capital co-led.
The company plans to expand in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
Seeds, the arm of SG Growth Capital, the investment platform of the Economic Development Board and Enterprise Singapore, as well as NTUitive, SUTD Venture Fund, and Tenity, also joined the round.
Pints AI said the funding will support engineering hires, governance and audit capabilities. It will also support development of Autothought Studio, the company’s AI applications in-house.
Pints AI said 12 financial institutions in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, and the US had used its Autothought platform in under two years, saving a combined US$10 million.
The focus on governance follows proposed AI risk management guidelines from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
The guidelines cover generative AI and AI agents. Separately, Celent said Asia Pacific life insurers are using the technology to cut costs and improve productivity.
