TikTok Shop to inject $4.25m stimulus package for Malaysian MSMEs
TikTok Shop will allocate 20 million ringgit (US$4.25 million) to support Malaysian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through its new #JomLokal Booster Stimulus Package.
The platform, owned by ByteDance, said eligible MSMEs with fewer than 200 monthly orders and less than 1,000 ringgit (US$212) in monthly sales can receive a commission fee waiver of up to 1,000 ringgit (US$212) for 120 days, and 50 ringgit (US$10.60) in ad coupons.
The program is separate from TikTok Shop’s New Seller Kickstart Program and targets sellers already joining the #JomLokal initiative.
The stimulus package also includes sponsored ads for Malaysian-made products on TikTok’s app, and free access to TikTok Shop LIVE Hubs for up to 10 sessions per seller.
TikTok Shop will provide additional training and workshops to help MSMEs improve their digital skills.
The initiative was launched at an event attended by Malaysia’s deputy minister of domestic trade and cost of living.
