TikTok said a report by PF Global estimated economic activity tied to the platform contributed US$81 billion to US gross domestic product and supported 410,000 jobs in 2025. Businesses used the app to market products and reach customers.

The report said 27 million Americans visited an independent shop, cafe, or restaurant for the first time after seeing it on TikTok, generating an estimated US$4.7 billion in local spending that year.

PF Global also estimated that 1.8 million US entrepreneurs sold products or services through TikTok in 2025.

The figures come as TikTok faces US regulatory pressure after the Supreme Court rejected a challenge to a law requiring ByteDance, TikTok’s China-based parent company, to divest the app or face a ban, according to a Congressional Research Service note published on January 22, 2025.
