Thales, a France-based aerospace, defense, and digital security company, and Singtel said they had deployed what they describe as the world’s first multi-operator eSIM connectivity network for enterprise internet of things (IoT) devices.

The network, launched with Optus, AIS, and Globe Telecom, lets companies manage connected devices across countries and mobile networks through a single platform.

The platform uses the GSMA SGP.32 eSIM standard. It enables remote, low-touch eSIM management for IoT devices that often lack screens or other user interfaces, unlike earlier consumer.

The companies said IoT devices could connect to the most suitable participating network as they move between countries without SIM replacement or manual intervention.

They added that the platform was ready for enterprise deployments by the four operators, with plans to expand to additional Bridge Alliance operators.

GlobalData estimates that cellular IoT connections in Asia Pacific will reach 1.3 billion by 2030.
