Thailand approves $1.7b for data centers in Chonburi
The Board of Investment (BOI) of Thailand has approved investments for two significant data center projects.
The projects, located in Chonburi province, are valued at over 60 billion baht (US$1.7 billion).
They aim to enhance data processing and cloud services in ASEAN.
Quartz Computing, a subsidiary of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, plans to invest 32.76 billion baht (US$917.28 million) in a new facility.
Meanwhile, Digitalland Services, affiliated with China’s GDS, intends to invest 28 billion baht (US$784 million) in its data center in Chonburi.
