Clicx, a Thai virtual banking venture backed by Krungthai Bank, telecom operator Advanced Info Service (AIS), and PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR), said on November 3 that it selected Thought Machine, a London-based core banking technology provider, and its Vault Core system for the bank’s core banking platform.

Clicx said it is the first among Thailand’s virtual bank entrants to be ready to operate under the Bank of Thailand’s timetable.

The central bank had published its list of successful applicants on June 19, 2025, under a framework that had envisaged up to three licenses.

Clicx said it uses customer-consented data from mobile, retail, and payment channels to assess credit for freelancers, daily earners, and small businesses.

Any such use of personal data would need to comply with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act, which governs lawful data processing, consent requirements, and rights including access, correction, and deletion.
