Tether considers US stablecoin for institutions
Tether Holdings SA, the issuer of the stablecoin USDT, is considering launching a United States-based stablecoin aimed at institutional clients.
This consideration arises as the company evaluates opportunities within a favorable regulatory environment in the US.
Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO, mentioned potential regulatory changes, including a stablecoin bill advancing in Congress, as a significant factor influencing the company’s plans.
Ardoino said they await the final wording of the bill before making any decisions.
