Tesla's China factory head Song Gang resigns

Song Gang, who managed Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory since 2018, has resigned, effective December 20, 2024.

In a letter to employees, he expressed gratitude for his tenure at the company.

The reasons for Song’s resignation are not publicly known and Tesla has not commented on the leadership change.

Fei Wenjin, newly promoted to senior director of quality, will temporarily take over Song’s duties.
