Tesla urged the Trump administration to uphold vehicle emissions standards and retain the US position that greenhouse gases endanger public health.

The EV maker said a recent Environmental Protection Agency proposal would exempt engine and vehicle manufacturers from requirements to measure, control, and report greenhouse gas emissions for highway vehicles.

Earlier this week, a coalition representing General Motors, Toyota, Volkswagen, and most other automakers urged the EPA to scale back its stricter emissions rules, which are designed to increase EV production in the coming years.
