Tesla recalls 239k vehicles in US for rear camera flaw

Tesla is recalling about 239,000 vehicles in the United States due to a malfunction in rearview cameras, affecting 2024-2025 Model 3 and Model S sedans, as well as 2023-2025 Model X and Model Y SUVs.

The issue, reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), could impair rear visibility and increase crash risks.

Tesla has issued a free over-the-air software update to fix some camera problems, and vehicles with circuit board failures will receive free computer replacements.

Tesla has received 887 warranty claims and several field reports related to the issue but confirmed no injuries or crashes.

This recall is part of 16 recalls Tesla announced in 2024, covering over 5.14 million vehicles, including updates for the new Cybertruck.

Tesla declined to comment further on the recall.
