Tesla has received several shareholder proposals regarding a potential investment in xAI. Both Tesla and xAI are founded by Elon Musk.

These proposals come ahead of Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting on November 6, 2025.

In July, Musk said Tesla and xAI would not merge. However, a shareholder vote will address Tesla’s investment in the startup.

As per SEC rules, only one proposal per topic will be included in the proxy statement.

XAI has raised US$10 billion this year, $5 billion through debt financing and $5 billion through strategic equity investments, according to Morgan Stanley.

The startup acquired social media platform X for US$33 billion to improve chatbot training. It has also integrated its Grok chatbot into Tesla vehicles.

Tesla shareholders have until July 31 to submit proposals for inclusion in the proxy statement.
