Tesla expanded its robotaxi service to Orlando and Tampa on July 21, extending its rollout in Florida a day before its second-quarter earnings report.

Tesla launched the service in Austin in June 2025, then expanded to Dallas and Houston earlier in 2026 and Miami this month.

The earlier rollouts have remained limited, with the Austin service appearing to be invite-only rather than broadly open to the public.

The company is also conducting supervised tests in California’s San Francisco Bay Area.

California regulators said Tesla had not received California Public Utilities Commission approval to offer autonomous passenger service and did not have Department of Motor Vehicles permission for fully driverless testing or deployment.

Before earnings, Wall Street expects US$26.36 billion in revenue and adjusted earnings per share of US$0.54. Some analysts still see robotaxis as part of Tesla’s long-term investment case despite delays to a broader rollout.
