Tesla Europe sales drop 49% in April
Tesla’s vehicle sales in Europe fell sharply in April, totaling 7,261 units sold. This marks a 49% decline compared to the same month last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Despite this downturn, the overall market for battery electric cars in Europe grew by 34.1% year-on-year. Tesla’s sales for the January-April period also decreased by nearly 40% compared to the previous year.
Recently, the company has faced brand challenges, partially linked to CEO Elon Musk’s political involvement. Protests at Tesla dealerships across Europe in March highlighted consumer dissatisfaction.
Although Tesla released an upgraded version of its Model Y SUV earlier in 2025, its overall lineup remains largely unchanged. No new mass-market models have been introduced.
