Tencent, Visa launch palm recognition for e-payments in SG

Tencent partnered with Visa to launch palm recognition for digital payments.

The initiative, announced at this year’s Singapore Fintech Festival, will launch in Singapore with a pilot program for Visa cardholders from DBS, OCBC, and UOB.

The pilot allows users to make payments at Alchemist café in Singapore by scanning their palms.

Tencent explains its system detects palm and vein patterns in various lighting conditions.
