Tencent partners with Cyberlite India on gaming career study

Tencent has partnered with Cyberlite India, an India-based organization focused on digital safety and youth engagement, on a multi-city study to gather views from students, parents, and educators on careers in the video game industry.

The program will involve more than 100 participants across four cities through 12 focus groups and workshops. Tencent will also support a three-part edition of the YouTube series Game On with Yuvaa and other partners.

According to Niko Partners, India had an estimated 511 million video game players in 2025.

The Union Budget 2026-27 also proposed Content Creator Labs in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges as part of support for the animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality (AVGC-XR) sector.

Separately, Tencent plans to invest 100 million rupees (US$1.05 million) in India’s gaming and animation industry.
