Tencent opens AI capabilities, supports domestic chips

Chinese tech giant Tencent announced that it is opening its artificial‑intelligence capabilities to external users through Tencent Cloud. The move aims to help companies across sectors integrate AI into their operations more easily.

Qiu Yuepeng, Tencent Group’s vice president and president of Tencent Cloud, said Tencent Cloud now supports mainstream domestic chips and highlighted the firm’s participation in open-source projects.

Tencent Cloud is making a long-term strategic investment to optimize both hardware and software, leveraging a heterogeneous computing platform that integrates various chip types to offer high-cost performance AI computing power to external clients.

These efforts come as demand for AI solutions and computing power continues to rise among businesses.
