Tencent Cloud to invest $650m in Saudi, Indonesia data centers
Tencent Cloud plans to invest over $650 million to expand its global infrastructure in the Middle East and Southeast Aisa. The announcement was made during the Tencent Cloud City Summit in Shanghai on March 19.
Dowson Tong, CEO of Tencent Cloud and Smart Industries Group, stated that the company will establish its first data center in Saudi Arabia, with an investment exceeding $150 million. Additionally, Tencent Cloud will invest $500 million to build its third data center in Indonesia.
The company has reported steady international growth, serving over 10,000 clients across more than 80 countries and regions, including North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Tencent Cloud has also partnered with over 40 Fortune 500 companies in China to assist with digital transformation initiatives.
