Tencent Cloud partners with Simpaisa for Saudi push
Tencent Cloud said on September 3 that it was collaborating with Simpaisa, a fintech and digital payments company, on a cloud project.
The project will assess and optimize Simpaisa’s infrastructure while supporting the operational, security, and regulatory requirements of financial services applications.
The assessment covers compute workloads, Kubernetes-based applications, databases, messaging infrastructure, monitoring services, and security capabilities.
It includes a proposed environment with more than 50 compute instances and over 50 Kubernetes pods for Simpaisa’s broader fintech platform.
The announcement comes as Simpaisa expands into Saudi Arabia through Simpaisa Arabia, a local entity set up to offer digital payment services to businesses and financial institutions in the country.
Payment service providers there are expected to obtain licenses from the Saudi Central Bank, and cloud deployments for regulated financial institutions must comply with SAMA rules and are also governed by third-party cybersecurity requirements.
