Tencent Cloud, Tencent’s cloud unit, and AI Singapore (AISG), a national AI initiative, have launched a hackathon in Singapore running from September 16 to November 3 for developers, innovators, students, and startups to tackle real-world AI challenges across industries.

Aspire, a Singapore-based fintech firm, DBS, Keppel, Nanyang Technological University’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU LKCMedicine), and Ryde are contributing challenge statements across banking, real estate, healthcare, fintech, and digital services.

Each registered participant will receive 1,000 credits, as well as training and technical support, to use Tencent CodeBuddy, Tencent WorkBuddy, and Tencent Design Miora, according to the organizers.

Project submissions close on Oct. 16. Shortlisted teams will be announced on Oct. 23 and will present their solutions on Nov. 3.

The hackathon will award S$17,000 (US$13,000) in cash prizes.

Tencent said outstanding participants may be considered for fast-track internships.

Selected projects may be considered for proof-of-concept collaborations, investment, or incubation support.
