Temasek sells 2% Lenskart stake for $202m
Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek sold a 2% stake in Gurgaon-based eyewear retailer Lenskart for about 19.5 billion rupees (US$202 million) in open-market transactions on July 10, according to regulatory filings with the stock exchanges on July 14.
The sale cut its holding to 4.75% from 6.8%.
The sale followed stake sales by Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and SoftBank.
It also came after Lenskart’s six-month initial public offering lock-in expired on May 8, making about 104.7 crore shares eligible for trading.
Including this transaction, Temasek has sold Lenskart shares worth 22.6 billion rupees (US$235 million), including 3.2 billion rupees (US$32.9 million) through the company’s IPO offer for sale.
Lenskart listed in November 2025 at an IPO issue price of 402 rupees (US$4.2) per share, and block deals after the lock-in expiry in early May were struck at 473.4 rupees (US$4.9) each.
For the quarter ended March 31, Lenskart’s revenue from operations rose 46% year on year to 25.2 billion rupees (US$262 million), while net profit fell 7% to 2 billion rupees (US$21.2 million) because the year-ago quarter included a one-time gain.
