Temasek seeks new investment opportunities in Indonesia
Temasek Holdings, Singapore’s state-owned investment firm, is seeking additional investment opportunities in Indonesia.
Chairman Lee Theng Kiat met with Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, in Jakarta on July 18, 2025.
During the meeting, Airlangga acknowledged Temasek’s contributions to the Indonesian economy.
He specifically noted its funding for local startups and national strategic projects. He also highlighted potential collaboration in renewable energy to aid Indonesia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
Temasek’s subsidiary, Sembcorp Urban, is currently developing green industrial zones in West Java, Tanjung Sauh, and Tembesi, Batam.
These projects are part of broader efforts to strengthen ties between Temasek and Indonesia in sustainable sectors.
Lee expressed gratitude for Indonesia’s efforts to maintain an open and healthy investment climate.
He highlighted Indonesia’s significance as a key partner for Temasek in Southeast Asia. He also mentioned the firm’s plans to expand existing investments and seek new opportunities.
