Telegram founder Durov returns to Dubai after France ban

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has returned to Dubai after previously being under a travel ban in France.

According to a statement released on Mar.17, Durov was arrested at an airport near Paris in August 2024 and was placed under formal investigation.

Durov, the Russian-born CEO of Telegram, said that he spent several months in France due to an investigation related to alleged criminal activities conducted via the platform.

While the investigation is ongoing, he expressed gratitude for being allowed to leave the country.
