Tech giants race to secure multi-billion AI, cloud deals
Major tech firms are announcing a wave of multi-billion-dollar deals in AI infrastructure and cloud computing as demand for AI capabilities rises.
Nvidia has reportedly agreed to acquire Groq’s assets for US$20 billion and plans to license technology while hiring Groq CEO Jonathan Ross and other engineers.
OpenAI is in talks with Amazon for a possible US$10 billion investment, while Disney will invest US$1 billion. OpenAI has also secured a multi-year chip supply from AMD and a partnership with Broadcom for AI processors.
Nvidia is set to invest up to US$100 billion in OpenAI and supply it with data center chips.
Oracle has reportedly signed a US$300 billion cloud computing deal with OpenAI over five years.
Meta signed a US$14 billion deal with CoreWeave, is negotiating a US$20 billion cloud deal with Oracle, and agreed to a six-year cloud deal with Google worth over US$10 billion.
Microsoft will invest up to US$5 billion and Nvidia up to US$10 billion separately in Anthropic.
Google will invest US$40 billion in Texas data centers, and Tesla has signed a US$16.5 billion chip deal with Samsung.
