A group of tech entrepreneurs launched the ‘Free Our Feeds’ campaign, which aims to raise US$30 million over the next three years for creating a decentralized social media ecosystem not controlled by billionaires.

The project plans to develop a network of applications based on the AT Protocol, which is open-source technology used by the social media platform Bluesky.

Marc Faddoul, a project adviser, highlighted the potential of this technology to reshape online interactions.

The campaign aims to raise an initial US$4 million to establish a non-profit foundation to develop the ecosystem and has already received over US$67,000 through online donations.
