India-based IT services firm Tata Consultancy Services said on June 12 it launched an Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence in Kolkata with Oracle.

The move is aimed at helping enterprises address fragmented data, slow analytics, limited AI scalability, and operational inefficiencies.

TCS said the facility at Delta Park Lords will build reusable architectures, industry solutions, and accelerators around Oracle’s AI Data Platform.

The platform combines Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Enterprise AI to help companies prepare data for AI, deploy AI-powered applications and automation at scale.

TCS said the database also automates provisioning, patching, backups, and scaling.

The launch extends a TCS-Oracle alliance that spans more than 35 years, with TCS offering Oracle consulting, implementation, migration, and managed services.

It planned similar labs and centers in four more Indian cities over the next three years.

TCS described the Kolkata site as India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence.

That claim is difficult to verify publicly because Infosys has separately promoted an Oracle AI Data Platform-based hub in Bengaluru under different branding.
