Tazapay raises series B with Peak XV, Ripple backing

Tazapay has closed its series B funding round with investments from Peak XV Partners, Ripple, Circle Ventures, Norinchukin Capital, and GMO VenturePartners.

Peak XV Partners led the round, with existing investors January Capital and ARC180 also joining.

The Singapore-based company operates a cross-border payments platform serving businesses in over 70 markets.

Tazapay processes over US$10 billion in annualized payment volume and has reached operational breakeven.

The new capital will be used to expand payment licenses to the UAE, US, Hong Kong, Australia, and a digital payment token license in Singapore.

The company is already licensed in Singapore, Canada, and the EU.

Investments from GMO VenturePartners and Norinchukin Capital will support expansion in Japan by enabling local payments and building a sales team.

Tazapay offers collection, payout, and stablecoin settlement services for global enterprises and platforms.

🧠 Food for thought

1️⃣ The fiat-crypto bridge strategy positions companies at the intersection of traditional and digital finance

Tazapay’s positioning as a “fiat bridge for stablecoins in emerging markets” represents a strategic bet on the convergence of traditional and digital payments infrastructure.

The investments from Ripple and Circle, two major blockchain and stablecoin companies, validate this approach. These partnerships give Tazapay direct access to digital currency infrastructure while leveraging its existing fiat collection network across 70 markets1.

This timing aligns with broader industry trends, as stablecoin providers like Paxos and BVNK have emerged as notable new entrants among the top 100 cross-border payment companies, reflecting the growing influence of digital currencies in international payments2.

The cross-border payments market is projected to reach $65 trillion by 2032, with blockchain and stablecoins increasingly reducing transaction costs and enabling near-instant settlements23.

Tazapay’s $10 billion in annualized payment volume and operational breakeven status demonstrate that companies can successfully monetize this bridge position between traditional banking infrastructure and emerging digital payment rails1.
