Tazapay said it has licenses or registrations in Singapore, Canada, Australia, and the US, and it is applying in the United Arab Emirates, the EU, and Hong Kong.
It said the money will go toward more regulatory approvals and product development for automated payment flows.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Tazapay’s funding follows rapid growth and a push toward profitability
- Revenue rose 3x to US$6.2 million in FY2024, while annualized payment volume topped US$10 billion 1.
- Tazapay reached operational breakeven in late 2024 and aims for net profitability by 2029 2.
- Part of the rise comes from its work as a regulated fiat bridge for stablecoins in emerging markets, which helps move value between traditional currencies and blockchain-based dollars 3.
- The company says it helps businesses turn stablecoins such as USD Coin (USDC) into local fiat for last-mile payouts to bank accounts, including in Hong Kong under Circle’s description of Tazapay’s role in Circle Payments Network 4.
The investment signals a more regulated phase for stablecoins in finance
- The funding tracks a broader shift as stablecoins move from speculative trading to payment plumbing 5.
- Expansion plans lean on licenses across the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore, since anti-money laundering rules apply to digital asset transfers, including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Travel Rule that requires certain payment-originator and beneficiary information to be shared 3.
- The approach frames cross-border payments as a blend of traditional and digital finance 3.
- Firms such as Tazapay market themselves as compliant middle layers, so businesses can use stablecoin rails while handing off parts of the regulatory load and operational work 4.
