Tata tops Foxconn as Apple’s biggest India supplier

Tata Electronic has overtaken Foxconn to become Apple’s biggest contract manufacturer in the country by headcount.

It has expanded its workforce in India to about 75,000.

Its rise from roughly 15,000 employees in 2023 was driven by Tata’s 500 acre plant in Hosur and the Pegatron and Wistron facilities it acquired.

Foxconn could retake the top spot as its Devanahalli plant scales later this year.

Apple continues to widen production in India and shift more iPhone manufacturing for export from the country.
