Tata Electronics has signed an MoU with Taiwan’s Himax and PSMC ahead of the launch of its semiconductor factory in Gujarat.

The partnership will focus on developing display semiconductors for televisions, smartphones, and computer monitors.

It will also work on AI sensing chips, aiming to meet both domestic and global demands while enhancing supply chain resilience.

In September 2024, Tata and PSMC partnered to build Tata’s first semiconductor plant in Dholera, with PSMC providing design and engineering support.

Himax specializes in fabless display semiconductors, while PSMC operates multiple fabs in Taiwan, producing over 2.1 million wafers annually.
