Taiwan’s Leadtek sees strong AI GPU demand
Leadtek Research, a Taiwanese distributor of graphics cards and AI servers, said this quarter’s revenue should be flat or slightly higher than the previous quarter as demand stays strong and supply constraints ease.
Revenue in the previous quarter rose 69.1% from the prior quarter and 91.29% from a year earlier to NT$1.57 billion (US$49.7 million).
Its net profit reached NT$107.79 million (US$3.41 million) on demand for high-end Nvidia AI GPUs.
China was Leadtek’s largest market with about 70% of its NT$4.44 billion (US$141 million) revenue last year.
However the company said it is looking to lift sales in Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand.
Leadtek said looser US restrictions on NVIDIA AI chip sales to China could support business growth.
Still, the company said Chinese customers are delaying large orders because of policy uncertainty and inventory risks.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Leadtek makes hardware and software beyond resale products
- Founded in 1986, Leadtek Research Inc. has worked with Nvidia for decades and does more than resell its products 1.
- The company handles “customized manufacturing and redesigning” so it can sell Nvidia products under its own brand 2.
- It also builds its own tools, including a “no-code AI development and management platform” for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), a factory quality inspection method that uses cameras and AI 1. Another product is a GPU Docker Management System (GDMS) for managing graphics processing unit resources in containerized software environments 1.
- Leadtek has also moved into healthcare with medical equipment and healthcare patches that use its BtNPN skin penetration technology, a system designed to help substances pass through the skin more effectively 1.
Leadtek faces supplier reliance and China risk
- Its growth can depend heavily on Nvidia supply allocations.
- The company has said its outlook can hinge on shipments of Nvidia Corp graphics cards, which narrows its control over revenue streams 3.
- Its China exposure leaves hardware suppliers in a tough spot as US trade policy shifts.
- A deal to supply 200 Nvidia HGX A800 units, Nvidia server AI systems built around its A800 chips, to China Mobile would leave Leadtek with a loss of about 11.4 million yuan (US$1.67 million) after related costs and expected credit losses 2. China Mobile is one of China’s largest telecom operators 2.
