🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Taiwan’s IPO surge hides quality questions for 2026

  • Taiwan raised a record NT$105.1 billion in 2025 IPOs. Hon Precision raised NT$34.5 billion and Heron Neutron raised NT$10.9 billion, which made up 43% of the total. Breadth looked thin.
  • TPEx had 39 new listings that brought in NT$20.5 billion. The average deal was NT$526 million, far below the TWSE’s biggest sales.
  • Asia Pacific raised 43% of global IPO funds in 2025. Outlook for 2026 rests on whether fresh listings deliver after market debut to keep investors interested.

Advisers can tap TPEx ESB and TWSE TIB pipelines

  • Taipei Exchange (TPEx) posts the list of new Emerging Stock Board (ESB) listings 1, and Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) explains Taiwan Innovation Board (TIB) rules and the application steps 2. This gives a pipeline for firms that handle IPO readiness. They can also offer Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) work. Internal controls plus investor relations also fit as Taiwan builds an Asian Asset Management Center 3.
  • The Asian Asset Management Center Promotion Office opened on September 1, 2025 as a one stop consultation hub 3. This supports IPO prep. Legal, accounting, and financial advisory firms can offer listing support.
  • Seventy IPOs closed in 2025. Expectations for 2026 run high. Early investors plus venture firms can scan TPEx’s Emerging Stock Board pipeline 1 for tech and biotech names that may seek main board slots in 2026.
