Taiwan’s chip tester sees growth despite US tariff risks

Chunghwa Precision Test Technology (CHPT), a chip testing and wafer probing services provider, expects minimal impact from potential US tariffs, as most of its testing operations are based in Taiwan.

CHPT expanded its San Jose subsidiary in 2022, increasing capacity fourfold to meet AI chip and smartphone processor testing demand.

North America accounted for 60% of revenue in 2023.

President Scott Huang projects strong 2025 growth, driven by AI and high-performance computing, with a strong first-quarter outlook.

For Q4 2024, CHPT reported a record net profit of NT$322 million (US$9.8 million), pushing annual net profit to NT$510 million (US$15.5 million).
