GoodArch, an arch support brand operated by Taiwan-based Homeway Technology, said on September 24 that it invested nearly 1 million ringgit (US$245,000) in an AI-powered foot mapping system in Malaysia as it expands into preventive health. The company said the system can assess a user’s feet in about five minutes.

The system was available at several locations, including its headquarters on Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur, as well as in Penang, Batu Pahat, and Johor Bahru. It said the system has been used for more than 300,000 foot structure assessments.

GoodArch cited a study from the International Islamic University Malaysia that found 26.3% of 190 students had flat feet.

GoodArch said it plans to work with local health management providers as it expands in Malaysia.

A US trademark filing associates the GoodArch mark with Homeway Technology Co., Ltd.

Malaysia’s medical device regulator says products classified as medical devices must be registered before being marketed, but GoodArch did not specify whether the AI foot mapping system falls under that framework.
