Taiwan-based Meta cloud supplier boosts 2025 investment to $548m
Taiwan-based Meta cloud supplier Wiwynn Corp is increasing its 2025 capital expenditure to NT$18 billion (around US$548 million) to diversify manufacturing operations amid higher US tariffs on Mexican imports.
The budget will support a US$300 million factory in Texas, a new facility in Kaohsiung’s Lujhu District, and expansions in Mexico and Malaysia.
Chief financial officer Harry Chen emphasized that the Texas facility will not replace operations in Mexico but will provide flexibility for customers affected by tariffs.
Some clients have shifted production to Wiwynn’s plants in the Czech Republic or Malaysia, while others continue manufacturing in Mexico despite the 25% tariff.
In February 2025, Wiwynn reported NT$46.51 billion in revenue (US$1.42 million), a 91.22% increase year-over-year, bringing total revenue for the first two months to NT$84.02 billion (US$2.56 million), up 95% from 2024.
The company expects growing demand for AI and general-purpose servers, fueled by investments from cloud giants like Meta and Microsoft.
Wiwynn will start shipping AI servers powered by Nvidia chips later this quarter, marking its entry into the AI server market.
