A recent survey by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER) shows that AI and big data remain the most common keywords among Taiwanese startups for the fourth consecutive year.

The 2025 Taiwan Startup Ecosystem Survey, conducted annually since 2018, analyzed how startups are applying AI technologies and evaluated investor perspectives.

Over 80 percent of surveyed startups are involved in AI-related activities.

The survey identified Japan, the US, and China as the top overseas markets for these startups.

Investment interest is highest in AI and big data.

The report noted increased interest from general venture capital firms in AI startups compared to corporate investors.
