Taiwan releases first startup ecosystem report
Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has released the country’s first white paper on its startup ecosystem, offering a detailed overview as of Dec. 31, 2024.
The document indicates that there are 9,576 Taiwanese startups listed on FINDIT, a government-supported information platform.
Startups in Taiwan are defined as businesses with less than NT$100 million (US$3.02 million) in paid-in capital, fewer than 200 employees, and operational for less than eight years.
These startups operate in various sectors, including healthcare, media, entertainment, food, hardware manufacturing, and software.
The white paper outlines government support available for entrepreneurs, including subsidies, loans, investments, and assistance with trade events.
