Taiwan has introduced an initiative called “Chips Team Taiwan” to boost local production of satellites, drones, and robotics, according to Wu Cheng-wen, the island’s technology and science minister.

The initiative is driven by increasing defense needs and growing demand from domestic chip design firms, which have traditionally focused on serving international markets.

Aiming to strengthen its supply chain and reduce reliance on the Chinese market, Taiwan is prioritizing drones under this program.
