Taiwan’s export orders rose 19.5% year-on-year in August to US$60 billion, according to data from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).

This marks the seventh straight month of annual growth and the highest August total on record.

The surge was driven by strong global demand for AI applications, high-performance computing devices, and cloud services.

Electronics components led with US$24.9 billion in orders, up 39.5% year-on-year, while information and communications products saw a 20.6% rise to US$17.1 billion.

Optoelectronics orders rose 9.8% to US$2.1 billion.
