Taiwan export orders hit record in 2025 on AI demand
Taiwan’s export orders reached a record high in 2025, driven by increased demand for AI and high-performance computing, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Total export orders for the year rose 26% year-on-year to US$744 billion, with December orders increasing 43.8%, exceeding analysts’ forecasts of 36.3%.
This marked the 11th consecutive month of growth.
Orders from Taiwan’s tech companies, including TSMC, a leading contract chipmaker, are seen as indicators of global tech demand. TSMC reported a 35% rise in Q4 profit last week.
The ministry forecasted January export orders to grow between 45.7% and 49.9% compared to the previous year.
