Taiwan’s Nanya Technology expects DRAM chip prices to rise
Nanya Technology expects dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) chip prices to rise further this quarter due to ongoing supply constraints.
The company reported a significant net profit of NT$11.1 billion (US$350 million) in Q4 2024, up from NT$1.6 billion (US$51 million) in Q3 and a net loss of NT$1.6 billion (US$51 million) a year earlier.
Nanya planned a record-high capital expenditure of NT$50 billion (US$1.6 billion) in 2026 to build a new plant, expected to start production in the first half of 2027.
The new facility aims to produce 20,000 12-inch wafers monthly by mid-2028.
