Taiwan’s Executive Yuan has approved the “Southern Silicon Valley” project to boost the AI and semiconductor industries in Chiayi County, Tainan, Pingtung County, and Kaohsiung.

The initiative aims to create “S-shaped semiconductor industry corridor” connecting technology centers and science parks in the southern region.

Executive Yuan spokesperson Michelle Lee said the project will support advancements in AI, semiconductors, biotech, drones, space technologies, and smart agriculture.

Key plans include infrastructure improvements, workforce training, and AI integration in local industries.

The government will partner with private sector to enhance computing power, data storage, and research capabilities.
