T-Mobile to hire 1,000 staff at new India tech hub

T-Mobile, a US telecom operator, opened a global capability center (GCC) in Hyderabad on June 4,

The company also plans to hire nearly 1,000 people there by 2027, according to Telangana’s information technology ministry.

The 250,000-square-foot center will handle software engineering, product development, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

The expansion reflects how India’s GCCs have shifted from low-cost outsourcing hubs to offices that support global companies across a wider range of functions. Zinnov said about 50 new GCCs opened in India in the first two quarters of 2025, and that Bengaluru and Hyderabad continue to dominate new setups.

Hyderabad is home to more than 355 centers, according to Zinnov.
