Swiggy rolls out DeskEats after widening Q1 losses
Swiggy has launched DeskEats, a food delivery service for office workers in more than 7,000 tech parks across 30 Indian cities.
DeskEats offers combo meals and snacks for easy desk consumption and can be accessed on the Swiggy app by searching “office” or “work.”
The launch follows Swiggy’s June 2025 quarter report, which showed its net loss doubled to 1,197 crore rupees (US$136 million) despite a 54% rise in operating revenue to 4,961 crore rupees (US$564 million).
Swiggy reported that its food delivery segment grew 19% year-on-year during the quarter, compared to Zomato’s 16% growth in the same period.
DeskEats joins Swiggy’s other initiatives, such as the 99 store, targeting price-sensitive and frequent users in an increasingly competitive food delivery market.

🧠 Food for thought
Based on the available sources, I don’t have sufficient credible and current information to provide high-quality insights that meet the standards for this Food for Thought section.
Most of the search results returned “No information found,” and the available sources are primarily from 2018-2019, making them too outdated to draw meaningful connections to Swiggy’s current DeskEats launch and recent financial performance.
The few current sources don’t provide the depth of industry data, competitive analysis, or market context needed to generate the type of well-grounded, valuable insights this section requires.
Rather than attempting to make connections with insufficient evidence, I’m opting to skip this analysis to maintain journalistic integrity and credibility standards.
