Swiggy Q3 losses rise, quick commerce drives growth
Swiggy recorded a consolidated net loss of 799 crore rupee (US$91.28 million) in the third quarter of FY25, a 39.1% increase from 574.4 crore rupee (US$65.62 million) in the same quarter last year.
The loss also rose sequentially by 27.7% from 625.5 crore rupee (US$71.46 million) in the prior quarter.
Despite the losses, operating revenue grew by 31% year-on-year to 3,993.1 crore rupee (US$456.18 million), and by 10.9% quarter-on-quarter basis.
Instamart, Swiggy’s quick commerce arm, contributed significantly to the losses, with a loss of 527.68 crore rupee (US$60.18 million), up 70% from the previous year.
However, its revenue surged by 114% year-on-year to 576.50 crore (US$65.86 million).
The segment expanded its footprint by adding 96 active dark stores, bringing the total dark store area to 2.45 million square feet.
Despite the increased losses, Swiggy highlighted growth across its business-to-consumer segments and plans to continue expanding, particularly in quick commerce.
