Swiggy names ex-Myntra CEO to lead Instamart
Swiggy, an India-based food delivery and quick-commerce company, said on July 28 that former Myntra CEO Nandita Sinha will lead Instamart from August 3, replacing Amitesh Jha, who is leaving the company.
She takes over as Instamart remains central to Swiggy’s growth strategy, but is still loss-making.
Swiggy has expanded Instamart to more than 1,062 dark stores across 127 cities and said the network can support a further doubling of business without many more stores.
This points to a shift from rapid expansion to better use of stores and improved margins.
The leadership change comes as India’s quick-commerce market is projected to reach US$12.97 billion by 2029, with some analysts placing Instamart behind Blinkit and ahead of Zepto in India.
